In France, the wine cellar is treated as a showpiece. Rather than being concealed, it is displayed behind a corner glass wall with black facets, set upon a bed of white pebbles. Inside, the oak Modulothèque shelving units hold the bottles; outside, a driftwood sculpture complements it. With glass on two sides, the wine cellar becomes a room to be admired as much as it is to be opened.
